The thoughts of Trevor Banks on...

My friend, the late Trevor Banks, was a high school English teacher, amateur actor -- known internationally for his one man Bertrand Russell act -- and athlete (he helped found the National Capital Marathon and the National Capital Running Association. He ran the Boston Marathon in his retirement years). I think he set a record at the Ottawa Citizen for having so many letters to the editor published.

Being Humanist

"I have not been convinced of the existence of a supernatural god or goddess. It seems we live in a natural universe. It is not such a terrible thing living in a ‘godless universe’, we are not alone, we have each other."

Sentiments I have imbibed over the years, from people whose intellectual honesty and humility I admire and respect.
